Emilia Romagna – Brisighella: Walks & Tastings of the most outstanding products of the territory

• Featured Products: “Brisighella PDO EVO oil” (PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil), the first PDO (protected designation of origin) Italian from 1997, thanks to a territory that, due to its climatic conditions and its altitude, enjoys a perfect microclimate for the cultivation of olive trees. The rustic artichoke typical of this territory, he “Moretto artichoke”, to which the Fair of Carciofo Moretto is dedicated in the month of May. The “Mora Romagnola” it is a highly prized pig native to the Romagna region; it is a small black pig (not to be confused with a wild boar although they may look similar at first glance) from which the typical cured meats are produced, proud of that area: “dried sausage, prosciutto, jowls, rolled bacon, head cup”. The wine “Sangiovese of Romagna DOC”, produced with pure sangiovese grapes or with mixtures of very small amounts of different native grapes; It marries very well with typical cold cuts of the area, the handmade pasta, also very typical of the Romagna region, and the grilled meats. He “Shallot of Romagna IGP” (Chalota de Romagna IGP) since 1997 bears the IGP denomination thanks to the work of some farmers in the territory.
